Welcome to www.ngc891.com (aka www.cornmell.com) this site contains a selection of my personal astronomical content. Click on any of the links on the left or images below to navigate to the appropriate place. I'm an amateur astronomer and have tinkered a little in this and that. This site contains some images I've taken through a variety of telescopes. Details of how to build a 457mm (18") Dobsonian Telescope and some interactive star charts, aimed at my own personal preference of using Tirion's Sky Atlas 2000.0 in the field, and keeping a list of what I've observed over the years. There are individual charts for the Messier Catalogue, Caldwell Catalogue and the Herschel 400 Catalogue, see the Star Charts page for more information. These catalogues can be downloaded as spreadsheets and PDF documents. There are also individual finder charts for objects (e.g: Messier 45) and constellations (e.g: Orion).

As an amateur astronomer I get asked a wide variety of questions, especially when people find out I'm a computer scientist, these usually boil down to which software do I recommend, so I've included a web links page which lists this information along with links to various podcasts etc.

I hope you find the content of this site useful, if you want you can also drop me a line with any comments or suggestions you may have. This is a redesign of my site so probably still has a few teething problems, so be please be patient, if you spot any issues though drop me a line and I'll add it to me todo list.

I'm a member of the Telescope Making WebRing, please feel free to see other Telescope Makers and their Telescopes.
